These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of StandCoach (“the app”), a menu-bar application for macOS. By downloading, installing, or using StandCoach, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
StandCoach grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your personal or internal business use. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app, or remove any proprietary notices. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
StandCoach includes a 30-day free trial that starts on first launch. During the trial every feature is available, with no account and no payment details required. There is no subscription and no trial enrollment — nothing to cancel; if you simply stop using the app, you will never be charged.
After the trial, continued use of the coaching features requires StandCoach Pro, a one-time, non-consumable purchase. The purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit) at the price shown in the Mac App Store; StandCoach never receives or stores your payment details. If you reinstall the app or move to a new Mac signed into the same Apple Account, use Restore Purchase to regain access without paying again. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's own policies. Your recorded standing history remains visible even if the trial ends before you purchase.
StandCoach is a habit-building tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, health, or fitness advice. Its prompts and standing targets are general and may not be appropriate for your circumstances. Consult a qualified professional before changing your routine, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant, or are recovering from injury. If you feel pain or discomfort, stop and seek advice. You use StandCoach at your own risk.
The optional Standing desk feature controls a motorized desk over local Bluetooth. It is off by default: no desk moves unless you enable desk integration and pair a desk. Once enabled, the desk can rise automatically when a standing period begins (for example when you start standing from the popover or a notification), and an optional wiggle reminder — itself off by default — can briefly pulse the desk motor when a stand prompt fires. StandCoach never lowers the desk after a completed standing period without your explicit confirmation.
Motorized desks can pinch, collide with, or damage objects, cables, equipment, or people in their path. You are responsible for ensuring the space above and below the desk is clear whenever movement may occur and for operating your desk within the manufacturer’s guidelines. We make no warranty that any particular desk model will respond correctly, and we are not responsible for any damage or injury arising from desk movement.
StandCoach is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will the developer of StandCoach be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the app. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
Your use of StandCoach is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what little data the app handles, the opt-in exception for anonymous analytics, and how Apple processes StandCoach Pro purchases.
If you opt in to analytics, usage data is processed by Google Firebase under Google’s terms. StandCoach Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s terms. The Standing desk feature interacts with third-party hardware; your use of that hardware is subject to the manufacturer’s own terms and warranties.
If you obtained StandCoach through the Apple App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and your continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer’s principal place of residence, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the app will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there.
